Please join us for a new weekly class led by Sarvabhavana Prabhu on the recent publication of Srila Govinda Maharaj’s talks entitled Revealed Truth. The class will begin this Thursday August 15th at 7:00 pm in Soquel.
Sarvabhavana Prabhu would like everyone to read the chapter ahead of time. This week we will be reading from and discussing chapter 1. Prasadam will be served after class at 8:30 pm.
Sripad Tyagi Maharaj, who compiled the book, recently told me that much of the compilation was done here in Soquel and a large part of the content was mined from discourses that took place here also. It is such an incredible book and we really hope that you will all join us in studying this amazing scripture.
“This book has been structured according to one of Srila Gurudev’s favorite models of presentation, the Dasa-mula-tattva, Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur’s consolidation of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s siddhanta into ten fundamental principles.”
“Join the devotees beneath the tree of divine revelation and nourish your soul with its nectar.”

On May 22, 2012 we will celebrate the 16th anniversary of the installation of our beloved Deities Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Gandharvika Giridhari Jiu here in Soquel. We are most blessed by Srila Gurudev to have such beautiful manifestations of His mercy here.
They are served by our large family of devotees who come throughout the week to offer seva in the forms of cooking, collections, cleaning, flower garlands, classes, puja, gardening, maintaining the property and of course honoring Prasadam.
In honor of this auspicious occasion we are offering the following pictures of Their Lordships in a selection of Their many outfits we had the fortune to make over the years. Many, many devotees have helped with their generous devotional energy giving donations of their time, money, cloth, jewelry and even going shopping for me. I am indebted to all of them for their help in this seva. I must give special appreciation to my husband who has helped with the finances for every single outfit allowing me to maintain this service. Credit must also be given to Sripad Parvat Maharaj who took the majority of these images.

MaharajRaghunatha Dasa Goswami has said,
“In the absence of my Gurudeva, Govardhana hill, the representation of Krishna Himself, seems to me just like a big python coming to devour me. And Radha-kunda, the holiest place of divinity of the Gaudiya-sampradaya, seems like a tiger’s mouth coming to devour me. They are giving me so much excitement in the absence of my Gurudeva, my dearest and highest spiritual guardian. My Gurudeva, who has the most intense affection for me, is not here? How can it be? Everything is void. All has vanished with his departure.”
Such a deep sense of separation will come in the heart of a sincere disciple.
Once, one of your devotees said in his lecture that separation is the highest realization. I was very happy to hear from his lips that separation (vipralambha) is the highest attainment. Without separation, nothing else can come to us. The anticipation of meeting Krishna will appear to us as vipralambha, so vipralambha is the most auspicious thing pertaining to Krishna consciousness. And we can have Krishna’s connection also in that separation. So, the safest and most fearless position is vipralambha. If we can stand firm and retain the memory of Gurudeva in his separation, then we will have passed the highest test.

On January 9th our dear friend Sripad Vaishnav Maharaj left this world. On January 13th, his appearance day, his friends and family gathered to scatter his ashes in the Monterey Bay near our Ashram. While many boarded a boat, others gathered on shore at the lighthouse performing Harinam Sankirtan. He touched the hearts of many and will be remembered for his dynamic preaching and dedication to our beloved Srila Gurudev.
